Jeff Pillus, PE

PRINCIPAL

Jeff is an accomplished professional engineer with twenty-five years of experience in civil and environmental engineering.  He has planned, permitted, and supervised many inspiring projects in the Intermountain West.  Jeff acts as liaison to agencies and promotes fresh ideas while helping clients navigate approval processes.

James Green, PE

PROJECT MANAGER

James is a Professional Civil Engineer in California and Colorado with 20 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, and Land Surveying. James has depth of experience with land development and land surveying for private development, public works and capital improvement projects, as well as Department of Defense projects for the Air Force and Marines. James is a reliable and dedicated professional who possesses leadership, industry knowledge, solution-oriented creativity, analytical processing and a can-do attitude with the ability to adapt to challenges and any environment by creating positive lines of communication and problem-solving initiatives.

Brett Schlanger, PE

PROJECT MANAGER

Brett has over 18-years of experience working as a civil engineer for both the public and private sector. His background is primarily land development with project experience ranging from residential and commercial to industrial. He has significant entitlement and design experience and has worked on all phases of planning and engineering projects. His design experience includes master drainage studies, site grading and drainage, wet utility design, roadway design, drainage infrastructure analysis and design, dry utility coordination and regional trail design. Brett’s extensive experience translates into efficient project management and coordination between team members and clients to ensure project success.

Chris Hawkins, PE

PROJECT ENGINEER

Chris is a graduate of Tennessee Tech with experience in residential and commercial development, power distribution, and large-scale earthwork and solar generation projects. He is an accomplished nature photographer, outdoor enthusiast and a hockey player. As a Project Engineer, Chris leads plan production, company CAD standards and training, and assists in hydrologic studies and site designs.

 

Megan Ellis

ACCOUNTING and OFFICE MANAGER

Megan has more than 20 years of hands-on experience leading a broad range of accounting and administrative teams.  She has spent her career in professional services with 10 years as a Controller.  Megan develops and maintains internal processes for SET Engineering, which includes finding the right technologies to integrate into the management systems while leading accounting and process change management. Motivated by new challenges and like-minded small to medium business entrepreneurs, Megan is an integral member of the SET Engineering team.

Dustin Fry

CIVIL DESIGNER II

Dustin graduated from Montana State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. From there he’s gathered extensive experience through his work on residential, commercial, and public developments across California and the Four Corners Region. He specializes in site planning, grading design, utility layouts, drainage design, and 3D modeling. When he’s not in the office, Dustin enjoys being outdoors, hiking and camping.

Aaron Holland

CIVIL DESIGNER 2

Aaron Holland leads SET’s Moab office, bringing nearly 30 years of experience in the civil engineering sector, along with local expertise in constructability and code compliance. He collaborates with owners and architects during the planning and pre-construction phases, providing real-time location services to ensure efficient project development. Using survey-grade GPS technology to identify key site features, Aaron allows team members to visualize the site and make real-time adjustments. Aaron’s local presence, combined with his strong relationships with reviewing agencies, streamlines construction management, saving both time and money for clients.

Riley Shea

CIVIL DESIGNER 2

Riley graduated from Fort Lewis College with his B. S. in General Engineering. His diverse coursework allows him to bring a broad skillset to work. Riley enjoys tackling challenging problems and working with clients to ensure their vision is reflected in site design. Additionally, Riley is our office’s traffic specialist. After moving from Southern California to Durango in 2019, Riley quickly embraced the local community and enjoys coaching and supporting the local BMX scene.

Bret Snowden

CIVIL DESIGNER 1

Brett earned a BS in Engineering with a concentration in Environmental Engineering from Fort Lewis College. During his time there, he gained hands-on experience in hydrology, hydraulics, 3D modeling, and design. Before completing his degree, Brett spent four years building homes in the Four Corners region, where he became well-versed in construction codes and the development process. Outside of work, he enjoys biking, backpacking, climbing, and exploring the Western US.
